Introduction to Public Relations & Mass Communication 01-2018

IPRS held its first intake of its three-day Introduction to Public Relations (PR) and Mass Communication Course for the year in January. Participants who attended the course learnt more about PR principles, techniques and best practices from a team of seasoned IPRS trainers, all of whom are IPRS Accredited Members.

The trainers were: Robert Conceicao, IPRS President and Managing Director, Majic Communications; Adrian Heng, Director Communications & Marketing, Booqed Limited; and Tham Kok Wing, Senior Vice-President, Integration & Engagement, Ruder Finn Asia.

Look out for the next run of the course, which is tentatively set to run between 23 to 25 May 2018. Please visit our website, email, or call 6534 1841 for more information.

Here’s what our participants had to say!
Darren Beck, Associate Consultant, PRecious Communications

“I found the 3 days of training to be an enriching experience coupled with the right balance of theory, case studies and applied exercises. There was never a dull moment as each instructor openly shared their decades of experience in the PR industry which made lesson time fun and interesting.

On the surface, PR might seem like common sense, but it takes a keen and sharp mind to identify and hone in on the right message for audiences, understanding the difference between strategies and tactics to make a difference for both client and career.

I’m grateful for IPRS’s efforts to guide us beginners through this teething phase and for jumpstarting our PR minds, I look forward to further learning opportunities with them, can hardly wait!”

Sarah Gopal, Intern, Marketing & Communications, Andaz Hotel

“As someone who does not come from a communications background, this was a great course to help me kickstart my career in PR. The trainers provided not just the basics, but lots of practical advice from their wealth of experience that was very informative and useful. It was also nice getting to know others in the industry and I’m looking forward to attending more IPRS courses in the future!”
