LAUNCH OF THE WSQ PLACE AND TRAIN (PnT) PR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME IN OCTOBER 2013.  [Closed]

The WSQ Place and Train (PnT) PR Apprenticeship Programme is a collaboration between Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) and Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). The programme is aimed at building a pipeline of skilled professionals to meet the immediate and long term requirements of the PR industry.

PROGRAMME DETAILS

Duration: A seven-month programme comprising WSQ PnT classroom training and an on-the-job training component.

Five core PR topics are covered under the WSQ PnT Training:

-       WSQ Formulate, Coordinate & Evaluate PR Communications

-       WSQ Manage Media Relations

-       WSQ Plan, Develop & Support Crisis Communications

-       WSQ Develop Integrated Marketing Communications for a Specific Event

-       WSQ Manage Events.

What’s in it for EMPLOYERS?

For employers who sign up for in the WSQ PnT, IPRS will provide a list of interested candidates who are looking for a career in PR.

Employers will be required to sponsor their new hire(s) for PR training which will be provided by IPRS for a course fee of $2,100 (after WDA’s funding) per participant.

You will also be entitled to a 70% salary defrayment for your new hire/s capped at $1,400* per participant per month for the seven (7) months of the WSQ PnT programme. (* Terms and conditions apply.)

What’s in it for EMPLOYEES?

Here’s a great way for new entrants or career-switcehers to get a head start in the PR industry via the WSQ PnT Programme.

During the WSQ PnT Programme, new hire(s) will gain from firstly, being provided with a comprehensive PR training in the following five (5) WSQ certified PR topics:

·         WSQ Formulate, Coordinate & Evaluate PR Communications

·         WSQ Manage Media Relations

·         WSQ Plan, Develop & Support Crisis Communications

·         WSQ Develop Integrated Marketing Communications for a Specific Event

·         WSQ Manage Events

Upon successful completion of the PR training, the new hire(s) will be conferred by WDA with a WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) for each of the five (5) WSQ PnT modules.

In addition, new hire(s) will be provided ‘on-the-job’ training for six months during the WSQ PnT Programme.

Only those who are either Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) are eligible to participate in the WSQ PnT PR Apprenticeship Programme.
